There’s a specific kind of frustration that comes from knowing something is about to happen and watching everyone else be unprepared for it.
That’s where GarageV started.
My name is Jay Wang and I split my time between China and Canada — and that’s given me something most EV commentators don’t have: direct, day-to-day experience with Chinese EVs in their home market before they ever left China. Long enough to know the vehicles, understand their quirks, and figure out what accessories actually work with them.
When Canada opened its doors to Chinese EVs at the start of 2026, I saw it happen up close. But it wasn’t just Canada. The same wave was already rolling through the UK, Australia and Germany: tens of thousands of new owners arriving with great cars and nowhere to buy accessories that actually fit.
Generic floor mats that leave gaps. Charging cables that work everywhere except your garage. Dashcams that fight with the car’s existing systems. I’ve tried more of them than I’d care to admit. I know what works now.
So I built GarageV. Not as a retailer in the traditional sense — as the resource I wished had existed when I first started researching Chinese EVs seriously. Every product here has been chosen because someone with genuine, hands-on experience with these vehicles decided it was worth it.
My quality promise
Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort.
That’s the standard every product on GarageV has to meet. Before anything makes it onto the site, I look at it the way an owner would: Does it fit this specific car, in the version sold in your country — right-hand drive or left, with the right charging plug for where you live? Does it work with the systems already on board? Will it hold up to a Canadian winter or an Australian summer? Every detail, from the material to how it’s made, gets obsessive attention.
And if a product doesn’t satisfy you, you have 90 days to send it back.
Where to find us
You’ll find GarageV on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Each platform serves a different part of the community: lifestyle content, fast news, and genuine conversations with fellow enthusiasts.
The cars are already here, and more are coming. BYD, Chery, Geely, XPeng, Leapmotor — they’re climbing the sales charts in Australia, the UK and Germany, and building toward Canada right now.
Wherever you drive, GarageV is already here.
Follow along. Ask questions. Tell me what you’re waiting for. Chinese EVs are going global — it’s one of the most interesting moments in automotive history, and I plan to document every bit of it.
