There’s a specific kind of frustration that comes from knowing something is about to happen and watching everyone else be unprepared for it.
That’s where GarageV started.
I split my time between China and Canada — and that’s given me something most Canadian EV commentators don’t have: direct, day-to-day experience with Chinese EVs in their home market before they ever crossed the Pacific. Long enough to know the vehicles, understand their quirks, and figure out what accessories actually work with them.
When Canada’s tariff deal opened the door to Chinese EVs at the start of 2026, I knew what was coming: tens of thousands of new owners arriving with great cars and nowhere to buy accessories that actually fit.
Generic floor mats that leave gaps. Charging cables that work everywhere except your garage. Dashcams that fight with the car’s existing systems. I’ve tried more of them than I’d care to admit. I know what works now.
So I built GarageV. Not as a retailer in the traditional sense — as the resource I wished had existed when I first started researching Chinese EVs seriously. Every product here has been chosen because someone with genuine, hands-on experience with these vehicles decided it was worth it.
You’ll find GarageV on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Each platform serves a different part of the community: lifestyle content, fast news, and genuine conversations with fellow enthusiasts.
The cars are coming. The dealerships are being built. BYD, Chery, Geely — they’re all building toward Canada right now.
GarageV is already here.
Follow along. Ask questions. Tell me what you’re waiting for. This is going to be one of the most interesting moments in Canadian automotive history — and I plan to document every bit of it.
